Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?

I paint using acrylic paint, usually on canvas but occasionally on cradled birch board , paper, or even cardboard! To add texture and detail I use oil and chalk pastel, pencils, charcoal, and any manner of mark making implement; twigs, feathers and fingers included!

HOW ARE PAINTINGS DELIVERED?

Most of my paintings are large and require a serious amount of packaging! If they are being sent by courier or post I use a number of professionally tried and tested protective methods to ensure the surface and corners are not damaged, protecting your investment (and mine). I don’t skimp on cardboard, bubble wrap and packing tape!

HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?

Until 24th March Domestic shipping is free. For International Shipping please use the contact form to request an accurate quotation.

ARE YOUR PAINTINGS FRAMED?

It varies. Most large canvases come unframed, to keep weight and shipping costs down (and because they look perfect unframed.)

Some of my work is framed in a box frame and unglazed, works on paper are framed and glazed, with a wide double mount and simple white painted frame. Please contact me for detailed photographs.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?

I accept cash if I am delivering the painting to you locally, or if you can collect. I accept BACS transfer and you can also pay by PayPal. Sales at galleries can be made using credit cards.

DO YOU PAINT TO COMMISSION?

This is an interesting question! As I paint intuitive, abstract art it’s difficult for me to paint exactly what a client might have in mind as often I don’t know what is going to emerge on the canvas until I start to paint. However, if you have a particular requirement for a certain size, or for example would like to offer a poem or quote that is meaningful to you as a starting point, I am always happy to discuss the possibilities, with no commitment on your part.

DO YOU SELL PRINTS OF YOUR PAINTINGS?

I plan to! I am currently investigating options for prints and cards. Watch this space. In the meantime, if you have a particular request, please enquire using the contact form.

Is It Possible to see your work in person?

I am always happy to welcome you to my studio to have a look around at the work in progress and currently available, by appointment.
